www.lids.jp/forum.lids.org server crash. [Nov. 2nd, 2009|03:34 pm]
[Tags|]
[mood | sad]

There might be a hardware problem.
Anyway, we lost whole of our contents/Form messages. :-(

Now one of my friend is trying to get data from broken HDD.
Unfortunatelly, I also lost my backed up contents in my home.
So, now we only have latest version of lids/vmware.

Now I'm thinking to re-create whole of LIDS structure.
At first, I want to move their subject/object identifier. object id would be included in XATTR.

New version of LIDS will be relased soon. [Oct. 8th, 2009|10:00 am]
[Tags|]

It took so long time, but finally I could fit LIDS on latest version of Kernel.

#I needed to do lots of work for fitting LIDS with "cred" struct.

Now Sandbox, LFS, and ACL seems to be working fine.
So, I can release alpha-version soon.

My HDD is broken. And NAS is broken too. [Jul. 26th, 2009|03:09 pm]
My main machine(X61) HDD is broken 7/10.
When I tried to recover by fsck, it says 3000 damaged inode!! :-(

After run fsck, whole of file/directory was in lost+found/ with wired inode number.
I decided to re-install whole of system in new HDD, and restore important data from backup
HDD(NAS). But I realized my NAS(actually, Pentium4 2.GHz, 800G, pretty old bare-bone.)
also broken too. (NAS mother board seems to be broken.)

I bought new HDD and re-installed lenny. Also, I could recover some of data from lost+found. But it took almost 1 weeks, and still I couldn't find some of data/mail.

Fortunately, my developing environment is VMWare guest, and I bring the image by USB stick
always. Then I didn't lost any developing environment. But I lost lots of important
mail and data...

VMWare Guest [Jun. 26th, 2009|03:43 pm]
It seems my VMWare Guest image has corrupted.
I can't turn off/reboot one of the Guest image anymore.

I can reboot other Guest image, so I guess there was some trouble on the VMWare Guest.
But the Guest is important. I'm developing LIDS by using the image... :-(

I hope I can restore the image from my back up.

Anyway, the preoblem is "just" I can't turn off/reboot the guest. That it.

I didn't know this, but since VMWare ESX 3.5, it's supporting Paravirtualization.

I love this video.

I saw the video when I was in Junior-High school.
So, I think this kind of point of view created my character, and I'm proud it.

I hope we will be able to release next version of lids as stable one.
(means not rc version.)

We got great effort from Ben Boomsma, then we will have new version of LIDS document in Wiki.
(Thanks Ben!) :-)

Also, I want to put next stable version to LSM-ML.

LIDS Kconfig bug [Aug. 17th, 2008|01:42 am]
[mood | confused]

I've missed to put Dependencies on LIDS Kconfig.
I'll be able to fix it immediately, but I'm thinking I have to put another rc version
or just post comment to ML/Forum.

LIDS 2.2.3rc5 is released for kernel 2.6.25/2.6.26 [Aug. 1st, 2008|12:37 am]

[mood | happy]

LIDS 2.2.3rc5 is released for kernel 2.6.25/2.6.26

lids-2.2.3rc5-2.6.25/2.6.26 which included TDE/Sandboxing feature is
already available.

You can download it from
http://www.lids.jp/develop/
You must completely re-install lidstools to lidstools-2.2.7.5 also.
(It means you must erase /etc/lids directory and re-make ACL with
new version of lidsconf command.)

Now we are re-writing FAQ and some documentation for lids-2.2.3.

lids-2.2.3rc5 for 2.6.25 [Jun. 3rd, 2008|04:54 pm]

[mood | tired]

Now I've almost finished to develop new version of lids.
Beta version is available at
http://www.lids.jp/LIDS-JP/develop/20080603_b/index.html

But I found 1 bad problem. New version of LIDS is working on Debian(lenny) with no problem,
but doesn't work on Fedora9 correctly.
(We can't login from any tty with no error messages.)

Hmmm......
